Ga’briel Takes You Higher

Ga'briel ReviewWhen you read about a Christian rapper, you really don’t know what to expect and that was the case with Ga’briel. He’s got this aggression to him that makes you stand with your full attention to him. This is especially true with “Blessings Came Out.” It’s this dynamic track that takes you for a ride and is top notch. With “On My Own” he’s joined by Brittany Friday. On this one, the emcee doesn’t let up but the sound is soothed by the presence of his friend. That energy level is still high, ironically with “Fly High.” It’s clear that when it comes to Christian rap, things have changed from when it first emerged and it sounds more mainstream than anything, but has lyrics that make you think. Check out Ga’briel now if you’re into hearing some great music, from a talented emcee. Regardless of your beliefs, this is great stuff. (http://www.gabrielcartermusic.com/)

Kaper: “B.I.B.L.E”

kaper reviewKaper is back with a new track and it’s a good one. “B.I.B.L.E” is the name and it means, “basic instructions before leaving earth.” With that, you know that this is a song coming from a gospel background, but overall – this is full on hip hop. Actually, you could find it crossing over because it sounds like something you’d hear alongside T.I. on the radio. If you’re a fan of hip hop that comes from a deeper place than the rest, check out Kaper’s new one, “B.I.B.L.E,” out now. (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/kaper4)

Orthodox Prime: “Gen 50: 20”

Orthodox Prime ReviewOrthodox Prime comes at you intertwining the world of the Lord and traditional hip hop with “Gen 50: 20” featuring Pastor Michael D. Green. You aren’t sure what you’re getting yourself into when you hit play and the sermon from Green comes out strong and powerful. Then that is quickly followed by Prime’s rhymes that are just as telling as the words that came at the start. It’s a truly powerful musical experience and for those who like their hip hop with a since of higher power, but still with that true blue hip hop feel. If that sounds like what you’re into, check out Orthodox Prime’s “Gen 50: 20.” now. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kldSUj1lqf8&list=UUDjGqsta_yVB4BRd8jFJaHg)

Blac Seed Raps for the Heavens

blac-seed-reviewBlac Seed is a Christian rapper from Texas who believes in his Lord and word. In Track 5 Blac Seed lets the man upstairs he’s talking to him, with his friends Tat the Ambassador by his side. This Christian rapper also takes on the hits of others. He’s remixed the best from Drake, “Worst Behavior” as well as another from Drake, a hit featuring Big Sean and 2 Chainz. It’s when he sticks to his own thing that he shines though, like with “Zero and Tray.” He says it all with this one track – the difference between him and other rappers is “that he’s a happy one.” That speaks volumes about what Blac Seed’s all about, so if you’re into positive rap, check him out.
