Atlanta has a lot of talent running through it and Mumbz is making sure it stays that way. He’s proving “Anythings Possible” with his track that professes it. You can hear that southern influence on the delivery as as well the beat. In “Knock Knock” he comes across softer than the last track, while “Hate Me” plays on some fears. It has this eerie feel to it. Almost horror movie like. We hear him step away from that in “Da Bang Bang Boogie.” This one definitely takes us away from “Friday the 13th” and takes us right into a club for a great time. Kapo Khedda is a rising star who’s going places. “Swang” takes me back a bit to early ’90s rap. It’s has a raw appeal to it but a modern twist with the beat. In “Standing Strong” we hear more of a sitting on the stoop, recollecting on life track. This is the kind of hip hop you rarely hear anymore and it’s as refreshing as the guitar licks coming through. Last up, “Flashy Fare” isn’t that flashy at all. It’s more laid back and has a realistic feel to it. Chef Deazy is quite the interesting man. “It Hurts” but it sounds so good. There’s this dirty south feel to this one as the hip hop has a lot of energy but at the same time, we hear some New Wave in the beat. It’s an interesting sound overall. In “Always” we hear that fusion once again. It’s like a throwback to when the genre started to form, but a look at what’s going on today with the electronic influence sound. As we dance on into “It’s All My Fault” we slow things down a bit. Here the mood comes through as laid back and a little sensual, despite the lyrical content. With “They So Weak” Chef Deazy delivers a song that comes through as if Lil Wayne and Earth, Wind and Fire had a musical baby and this was the result. Get into the swag of Velle. Like many rappers, and creative types, it’s all about the “Grand.” You’re not just going to walk into success and this song is a great soundtrack to that. In “Till I” we get a great beat but the lyrics seem to run into one another as if in a traffic jam. That’s not the case with “You Be Always.” We get a more well constructed track this time around and it brings some romance to the mix. That romance creeps into the sentimental sounding “Good Girl Gone Bad” intro, but that fades as the lines come through and tell a different story. When push came to shove, “Money Where Your Mouth Is” really stood out as the biggest stunner because it was unlike the rest in terms of content and beat. Out in Pomona is a grand space for fairgrounds, an amazing venue called the Glasshouse and a rapper you need to know who goes by the name Bigg Tiny. “Fuc Da Patron” featuring Gawpdondollasign is where we begin and it’s a great place to do so. It has a sick beat that’s meant for the club but the lyrics are delivered with a sense of street. Speaking of the club, “Stepped In The Club” comes through and as the title laments - it’s meant for a night out with the guys. It’s also got a simplistic approach to the verses makes it one to get down to when in the whip too. As we roll on, “Goin Ham” sticks with the same mentality but gives us more a hard dance beat. You could definitely see the girls moving their backside to that one. Quarter Bill comes in and helps out with “Lighters” giving this one a more mainstream hip hop feel with the intro, but it gets a little gangster rap with some of the verses that come through . All in all though, if you’re into hip hop that’s for the nightlife, then Bigg Tiny is the guy you better get to know.
