blkLuna does Brooklyn the only way he knows how, through his rhymes. “Slowly Falling” is a hip hop love song that is simple tale about a guy falling in love with R&B interweaved throughout. “I’m Feeling” is as fast as The Flash and hard to catch the first time through, so don’t be afraid to listen to it a few times to get a handle on it. Collaborated Mindz, Inc. is made up of of four men; Johnny B.O.W., Mr. Precise, Case Dub/C.Killa and Spank Black. Apart they would still be great MCs, always looking to perfect their craft in any way, but together they are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to remixes, songs about the ladies and ones that are just about keeping it real. We Turned Up is literal and it starts off sort of slow, but then ends up amped up by the end. Each word an acceleration. Stop, Drop and Girlfriend are the ones about the ladies in Collaborated Mindz, Incs lives. Stop, Drop is about making that booty move and Girlfriend is what happens once the booty has been moved into the bedroom. Too Cool For me is not too cool to get a shout out for it being a song that everyone can enjoy, as is the family inspired For My Bredren. Pedal to Da Metal caps things off in the best way. It is a song about giving everything your all and never backing down. That is a perfect way to end your time with Collaborated Mindz, Inc. because you know that even when your time ends, they will be back to bring your more time and time again.
B-love MoneyBags is a man with a whole lot of swag from Florida who proves emcees can do it every which way. “Keep Ya Seat Belt On!” is a really good song technically. It’s well produced and the music sounds fresh, but I couldn’t help but think it was this super cool PSA for driving safety. “Are You Ready!” was nice and slow and never disappointed the whole time through. It was a bit sensual and all the while awesome. “Cant Tell Me Nothin!” turns it up and keeps it coming with this hype song that could definitely be used to break the ice in a crowd. Norm All Dramatic consists of a pair of brothers from Ohio who would definitely win a beer pong championship with their hip hop skills. “Closet Freaks” sounds like the kind of hip hop that teenage boys flock to and continue to sing along to up until they’re frat boys with Solo cups. It’s a bit on the freaky side and has a little comical feel to it. “Altered Mind” changes things up a bit and takes it a bit serious. It was a nice dynamic change from the first to that one. “First Date” takes it back to that Frat rap vibe. Bravo Jackson simply goes by Bravo and comes from the Lone Star state down in Dallas. He’s a young guy who has major chops and showcases it for all to see. You have to to be a little cocky to make it because there are a million other cats out there doing what you’re doing. Bravo knows this and showcases that in his song “My Show” very well. He goes as far as to crown himself in “King Bravo.” Hey, it never hurts to rein supreme – only this one’s more about a girl when it starts out. M.O.O.D Till I Die Music’s “Pay Me In Gold” is a hip hop record that has songs that are clear cut hip hop like “She Wan Me” and “Where’s My Deal,” but it also has one or so that are completely out of left field. “Who Am I (Intro)” kicks things off well, and the record only continues to get better and you get into “Take You There.” It has a hype beat that gets you pumped for the rest of the album. “Rebels” is like an experimental take on hip hop. The word “rebel” is repeated throughout like it’s calling out for help while the rest of the lyrics are spit out like nothing else is going on in the background. It’s a different approach that really works out. Espee is an MC who combines the street of hip hop with the realness of life. “White Boys” starts with this almost industrial sound and then kicks in hard. Once it starts, it doesn’t stop and Espee continues the whole time with a lot of energy. That energy goes on to songs like “Where Is Espee???” that follows a “do re mi” beat. It’s like a hip hop nursery jingle. “Grave Shift” takes you on a different path, but it’s a good one. Whether he’s getting the crowd going or taking it slow, Espee knows what he’s doing. Instead of this hip hop infused track that relies on beats, it was this soulful insight into what Juice 5.D.0.B. can really do with a feminine touch; sing with heart. “Million Dollar Rush” picks it up and showcases the rap aspects of life. It’s different than “Dope,” but one can assume this is what Juice 5.D.0.B. is all about. “Happy New Year” is a little late, but at least you can have a song that’s relevant at the start of each year, right?
