BEABOUTMONEY also known as BAM is on the rise and he’s about to catch your eyes - and ears. “Get Rich” is a great place to start with this emcee. It’s got appeal thanks to the hook and you can’t really touch that point of it. The thing I like is that the music doesn’t overpower his rhymes. He softens up with “Girl You a Star.” It shows the heart he has in his chest is full and it’s a nice balance between this and the first one we heard. With “Salute” he comes at you like a 90’s Jay Z, relying on a lot of talk at the start and a sick east coast like beat. When it came to “Glitter,” the title makes you think a light and airy track is coming through. Instead this one comes like a slap from reality. Being an artist, whether it’s a painter, an emcee or a writer - it’s about the picture you paint with what you do. For Dnastone it’s the words he spits out in his rhymes and he tells stories that are real and have edge. A newscast starts “Choppa Games” and when Dnastone finally drops in, he only adds to the reality of the situations that constantly surround this man’s life. Whenever a song starts out with a songbird, you can expect something exquisite and Dre5K’s “Real” is no different. Again with Sir’rah, we hear a more Lupe Fiasco like style from this young emcee in “Made For This.” He’s more composed here than in the last and listeners can hear the man behind the words loud and clear, even though this is a chilled take on hip hop. From laid back to the club, “Keep It True” isn’t a song that would get things turnt up but it would get girls and guys moving to the back beat. In “With Me” it doesn’t flow as well in the vocal department as the rest when it starts, but it seemed like a hiccup as the rest of the track is solid. Tha Tonic does his own thing, his way. “FHFM” is not the song I’d start out with if I was throwing a party, it’s more laid back and doesn’t ever really do enough to stand out. In “Cry” there is more to the music that it does a great job of pushing the song out in the center square more. Plus, Tha Tonic has more pep in his step this time around and doesn’t sound bored with his rhymes, but more content. Speaking of pep, it’s fully found in all places, “#Selfie.” It’s not the most popping track, but it has more personality than we’ve heard. With “Frequency” I think he’s finally found his stride for the style he’s going for. He’s laid back but this one keeps it interesting and intriguing from start to finish because of little bursts here and there. In the end, Tha Tonic doesn’t make that hip hop that could be mistaken for pop, nor does he come from a gangster rap background. West Palm Beach Florida is known for their beaches and their party scene and with that, we’d like to introduce you to an emcee who is about to be added to the list; K Reezy. He starts things with “Jeep Song (Top Off).” It’s rap intertwined with a rock base and because of that you want to bust a move while headbanging. He’s got a light Machine Gun Kelly feel, but not as rapid paced as the boy from Ohio. In “Been Doin’ It” we get more of a party vibe. The last song came across as an attitude stricken track, while this one is more fun. With that, he takes an inspirational turn as we head into “Never Stop.” There are a million and one songs out there and it’s never not nice to hear one giving hope to listeners. Then in rolls “Bank” and we’re back to the mixtape feel, all about them Benjamins. It’s clear that when it comes to style, K Reezy doesn’t like to stick with one sound and plays around with it. Come next week Sylvester Stallone may very well will for his role in “Creed” as his most famous character Rocky. That comes to mind as Joe Sauseda spits out rhymes on his “Adrian.” He uses the infamous image of Rocky as he finishes the steps and it’s fitting. He says his “music is his Adrian.” And that’s a beautiful line in many ways. Creative people aren’t catered to often and often told to give up and do something more stable. Hearing only one song from this Austin emcee, it’s clear he’s making the right choice. His words come through with precision and there is skill in him. In “Forgotten” we hear that same level of goodness. He comes through laid back but he doesn’t do anything but entertain. With “This Is” he picks up the pace just a bit but he doesn’t stray from the skill set we’ve become familiar with. Jaiz says he has hip hop in his heart. With that in mind, we start off with “My Victory” featuring Anna. She should be recognized for her great attribution to the song first and foremost. Now onto what he had to bring. He comes through with a good level of energy and both complement one another. It’s like when B.o.B and Hayley Williams teamed up some years ago. In “Angel” he’s flying solo and you can hear the passion in every line. Usually songs like this come through with ease, but this one is like a shark attack and fierce. An interesting move on his part. We jump to a completely different boat as we head into “Say No to Drugs.” This sounds like a completely different artist as he is more like a LMFAO without the dance beat in terms of overall packaging. As soon as you think you’ve got this rapper figured out, we get into “Rise” and are welcomed by a vocal performance. All in all, if Jaiz could only travel one route with little stops here and there, he’d be great somewhere between “My Victory” and “Angel.” Those two were great examples of what this emcee can do, so check those out today and hear for yourself.
