Ken Swagg takes his underground style and tosses in some familiar ways of the past. “Killin Shyt” is a command and he really wants people to know that he does what the title details. As for the song as a whole, it’s a good one that I can see younger hip hop fans getting behind. It sounds like something you would hear on MTVu. K. Morgan hops on “I’m Yours” and they deliver a sensual R&B joint. One would think that “Wife” would have been another R&B hit - romantic. Instead it is about taking someone’s girl, well their wife. It’s not the soundtrack from that Queen Latifah movie, but Ken Swagg’s “Set It Off” is just as entertaining. You get a little modern take on ’90s R&B with the freaky ways of “Ya Panties Off.” The same can be said of “Ya Body Callin” as well. Spit Tacular Keeps It Dark

Out in the Midwest is Spit Tacular and he’s ready for you to shine a light on his ways. The way that he spits out “TalkiN That” is middle of the road. It’s not this slow track, but it’s not overhyped either. If it were in the Goldilocks story - it’d be just right. Then you have “Young Kid” that really showcases what this emcee can do and what he’s all about. It is like his anthem and the one to check out first and foremost from this artist. Wrapping it all up is “80 Washingtons.” This one has a dark undertone when it starts that plays throughout and comes across a little scary. Lito El Único es Muy Bien

Lito El Único is a Spanish rapper who’s ready to hit the airwaves.“Rap A Toda Potencia” has a great beat and even if you don’t speak the language, you can definitely get lost in the translation and dance to it. With “Cuando ya no estes junto a mi” he slows it down a bit and you can do nothing more but take it in that way. Then we wrap it up and pick it back up with “Dime lo que tu te crees.” This one has a good beat like the first and offers itself to be a grand time. Sparx: Ignition

Sparx “Ignition” is a record chalked full of power house beats, but also has a couple surprises up its sleeves. “These Days” featuring Socrateez sounds like something off a Linkin Park record. It’s got a hip hop feel mixed with a beat and rock vibe - great feel. Socrateez hops on a couple other tracks and lights it up with “Ignition” which starts slow and quickly explodes. Then you have “Ear Candy,” rightfully titled. Outside of the LP Sparx does his thing remixing hits like Tegan & Sara’s “Closer.” He gives it a definite club makeover. Isaiah Thomas Motors Through

Isaiah Thomas calls Motor City home, but is about to take make his name world renowned. “ALTR” is for the hip hop lovers out there and is all about being alright. Then you get to “Certified Chick” is kind of a funny track with the line that mentions “her face is a dime.” His boy Pilberry hops on and helps out with “Ride Out.” Then he is back to riding solo when it comes time for “Smoke Music.” This one really feels like a west coast track thanks to the street appeal it has. Weird since Thomas hails from Detroit. I could not tell if “Bed Time Story” was about taking someone out or being romantic…it took a second to realize it was a sexual thing. Mist2'9 Bakes The Goods

Mist2'9 is an emcee from Bakersfield, California who puts effort into everything he does. “Ride of Die” featuring Yung Mav is more like a command than anything. The delivery is very aggressive. Juliano hops on to help out with “Just Trust” and brings it. Then Mist2'9 gets inspirational with “Martin Luther King,” and then shouts out another public figure…Scotty Pippen in a song of the same moniker. It’s not as grabbing as the latter though. The tone gets serious, very serious, with “Facts of Life.” This one may stand out just because it seems like the realest and honest. Things are still going soft and slow but not as honest as the last with “Stuck In MY Ways” featuring Hex. It’s less worldly and more about other issues, but it sounds killer. Speaking of killer, the beat of “Fam Is for Life” is on point and really sticks out among the lot when it comes to Mist2'9’s music. PG Evokes

PG aka Pretty Geeky is a female emcee who brings it as she provokes thought. “Talent Major x You Can Do It Too” is an honest look at overcoming and just doing what you have to do to make it. If one person can make it through what seems like the worst rough spot, you can do. Tony Clef hops on “The Cloud Movement” and movement is a good name. The little beat in it makes hips swivel back and forth, but it’s not necessarily a dance track. It’s more a thinker. That’s what a lot of PG’s music evokes - thinking. “Yonkers” is another one that follows a good beat but doesn’t overdo it. With “I Really Mean It” she really ups the ante and shouts out McDonalds as she brings to life her most energetic track yet. Tony Valentine Gets Funny

Tony Valentine takes things at his own pace and delivers. “Get Down with Big Daddy” featuring Sir Bishop has a mid-tempo beat and is an okay party starter. Then you get to “Water Boy” and you think that Tony Valentine has something for Adam Sandler. This track, a little more hype than the last, clearly shouts out the Sandler classic while the other one just had a movie title in its own. We get away from the comedy inspired tracks and roll up on “She Say” and we take it back down and move it slow, but this time it’s a sensual slow. Then we’re back up a bit for what’s one of the best from Valentine, “Mr. U Can Do It.” Things take a sensitive turn with “Fairy Tale” and then we wrap up the party kind of on the same page we started as far as pace is concerned with “Heart of Thangs.” If you like hip hop that is a chill time, check out Tony Valentine. Yung Dubey: "Bring Me Down"

Yung Dubey’s “Bring Me Down” is a track that gets things going from the push of “play.” It has a T Pain feel right when it starts that plays the whole way through. It is definitely a song that is supposed to be in a club atmosphere, even a Spring Break destination - because of the lyrics. It is all about no one bringing you down and when you are out and having a good time, which is the last thing you want someone to do. Glenn Waco: NorthBound

Glenn Waco’s “NorthBound” is truly an experience if you love and appreciate well thought out hip hop. “Interstate” spits out a story while bringing the feel of the streets but with a sense of class. The way the words come through have a great structure to them. The same can be said for “Bottle N’ A Sac” featuring Blakk Soul and produced nicely bu Lunch Time Legends. When you get to “Gutterball” is gets a little weird. This one verged on weird mixed with scary. Things pick back up with “Third Eye” and continues to do so with Tiara Monique and their “Summer Madness.” This track takes it slow, but it’s creamy delivery cannot be touched. What’s great about “Paradise” featuring the Nate Dogg sounding Mic Capes is that it has a social message to it and really reaches high to be heard loud and clear. Pat Di Selectah Takes His Time

Pat Di Selectah is an emcee who takes his time to get his point across. “Fireproof” is a slow track that is brought to life by the hook, sung much like Dido. That one seems like a mature sound for this emcee, and you think “Get Money Bitch” is going to be a hype track but it’s on a slow pace as well. You keep waiting for that big moment, but things keep going at a steady pace with “Sneak Dissin.” The track with the coolest beat from Pat Di Selectah resides in “Eat Ya Food,” while you finally get a little burst of energy in “That’s It.” You may not one to be the girl that’s the subject of this track, but if you’re not - that’s a reason to enjoy. Rambo Rilla Rides Hard

Rambo Rilla comes straight to you from Yonkers and whether he’s on his own or helping out a friend, he reps. “Codeine” featuring Kaiso Banks isn’t a fast track. It takes its time as both emcees trudge along with the beat. Then with Banks again, they tear it up on “Chiraq.” There is a lot more passion to be found in this one. You believe every word coming out like a bullet attack. On the other two tracks, Rambo Rilla is the featured artist. He helps out Mula Gang Flash.
